We are busy paying homage to the printed word by honoring a much-venerated tool of the industry, the typewriter.
Reading in Public (RIP) with a typographic twist, called "Typing in Public!"
On Saturday May 15th, Reading In Public will place typewriters at various locations in the city of San Luis Obispo, between the hours of 8am and 2pm, and everyone is encouraged to sit and type. In keeping with the spirit of Reading In Public, join us at at Sally Loo's Caf?? later in the evening at 6pm when volunteers will be reading selections from the collected works.
We are seeking community members to collaborate, participate and volunteer:
1. Volunteer to wrangle typewriters at our downtown locations (the 2 shifts are between 8am-11am and 11am-2pm)
2. Volunteer to be a reader at our closing event at Sally Loo's Cafe
3. Send us your original 140 word or less original written contribution or response to something already written by the authors.
